For an assumed leadership role
-
Let's take some examples:
- In a restaurant, the manager seats at the bar, near the checkout drinking and criticizing some employees loudly with big gestures of the hand and with constant signs of annoyance. Claiming a status by a presence that everybody can see and hear !
- In a big company, the president wants to claim his status of leader with an office on the top floor with a private lift which enables him to go directly from the garage to his office. Of course, no one can have access to that floor without being accompanied bodyguard who has a Magic pass and which is just for a few elected persons proud of having been elected.
A leadership based on the theory of the ivory tower, insularity. The invisible man ! - In a country, the leader considered as a « notorious dictator» only gets around in his golden ROLLS, preceded and followed by a cohort of military vehicles equipped with machine guns and accompanied by a bunch of guards armed to the teeth. A very radical way of preventing protest bout his leader status !
POWER ≠ LEADERSHIP
The real leader is aware that his/her key role consists in guiding, inspiring and developing the autonomy of his/her teams, so that everybody have the same objectives.
[color color="#c81056"]>>> The real leader cultivates the example value and affirms his/her leadership with the trust transmitted to the others.
[color color="#c81056"]>>> He/she believes in her/his teams, encourages them and congratulate them.
[color color="#c81056"]>>> He/she takes time to explain them the things so that they have the same projects and the same objectives and he/she regularly informs them about the life of the company. He/she accepts that sometimes there are debates because he/she is aware that there are more ideas in several heads than in just one and that these debates can lead to make more efficient decisions.
[color color="#c81056"]>>> He/she doesn't hesitate to say the things or to impose sometimes his/her decisions but never forget to listen to his/her colleagues so it will reinforce the relations with them and their commitment. He/she avoids the reactions in the heat of the moment which lead to negative things and prefers a cold reaction which makes his/her colleague realized in a positive way about the mistake made. The leader admits that mistakes do happen but will know how to react with strength and firmness if the same mistake is made again.
[color color="#c81056"]>>> He/she generates a team spirit so that internal conflicts are limited and consolidates the feeling of belonging to the company.
[color color="#c81056"]>>> The leader knows that he/she is not the best in terms of competence and that's why he/she must rely on others'. He/she tries to help everyone to reveal their own potential because this is good for the company.
[color color="#c81056"]>>> He/she is favorable to delegate some tasks, because he/she knows that this can make his/her colleagues more confident and that way can save time to accomplish other tasks.
[color color="#c81056"]>>> Like sport is good for the health, practicing a real leadership is also good for the health of the company ! It stimulates he commitment and the loyalty of his/her colleagues, it reduce absenteeism and generates a good ambiance in the heart of the teams which is particularly appreciated by the clients.
[color color="#c81056"]>>> A good leadership is also good for the health of the leader because the effects he/she produces on the others come back to him/her as positive vibrations.
So reveal the leader inside you !
Good business !!
