The Hairdressing Awards eighth edition, which Schwarzkopf Professional has been the partner for 25 years, was a beautiful event. Livecoiffure was present.
Created in England, the competition that takes place in various countries – Germany, France and Benelux amongst others – has evolved a lot, claimed Sylver Boll, Media Manager, in an interview with Livecoiffure. “Hairdressing has always needed art to dream, and progress thanks to the profession icons. This competition wasn't only for hairdressers who use Schwarzkopf Professional products ; it was open to everyone. We wanted to show the right way in terms of creativity.” Sponsored by Coiffure de Paris magazine, the Hairdressing Awards that rewarded the 2012 best hairdressers, was the opportunity to present Essential Looks 2013 Spring/Summer collection and the first high-definition coloration, the new Igora Royal. The Maison Gérard Laurent opened the ball interpreting, for France, the creations of internationals ambassadors Tyler Johnson and Leslie Lawson. It was Laura De Villebonne, one of the few women fashion designer, who created the figures for Gérard Laurent. Her models wore short graphic hairstyles that looked like those people wore in London in the sixties, with clear and precise outlines. Those refined lines were highlighted by two-coloured brown/honey shades inspired by Mono Mods. The second group of models embodied White Qngles, a Japanese fashion with define geometry accessorized with fringes. The third was Chic Glam, a hairstyle version of the Yves Saint-Laurent's smoking highlighted by an intense brown shade for the hair. Electric Youth, the fourth fashion, was dominated by nonconformist contrasts, to seduce the youngest ones in hair salons. The coloration visual, that fades the new Igora Royal in eight shades – brown, blond, pastel, natural, red, golden, fashion light and absolute – was very graphic. For this night, three models were turned into living statues that call to mind the product effectiveness and technology- in this regard, you can read our next Igora Royal special article. In total, fourteen Awards has been given to hairdressers who represented a region, a category. The 2012 best hairdresser is Luc Drouen - backstage agency
