Last week, LiveCoiffure told you about Denis Durand's Haute Couture in Palm Beach, Cannes. Christine Margossian tells us all about the event's hairdressing side. Interview.
LiveCoiffure : Christine what were your firsts impressions of the event ?
Christine Margossian : every fashion action highlights the close relation between hairdressing and Couture. Fashion designer, Denis Durand, who started his career in hairdressing, has particular demands. He likes everything that is worked, sophisticated and graphic. For him, hiring beautiful models to present his outfits is not enough. He wants to tell a story with perfect silhouettes from head to toes !
LC : What did you do to make sure that your hairstyles were perfect for his show ?
CM : Two months before the fashion show, I met him at his show room in Cannes, to gather informations about his outfits – shapes, fabrics and colours. So, I could propose him some ideas I had for hairstyles and volumes in harmony with his creations. The result : conical shapes, bows in the hair, round-shaped buns that can be worn down the nape of the neck as well as the top of the head.
LC : How did you organize the hairdressing cabin ?
CM : We were three to work on it. Amélie and Mary (fan of the job and Pascal Coste's group volunteer) prepared the models hair and I was in charge of buns. Denis only had to deal with clips. A good teamwork that guaranteed the event timing !
LC : there were talks about a perfume, what does it have to do with the show ?
CM : This fashion show was also the occasion to launch the fashion designer's perfume :Denis Durand Couture. This new oriental juice was born from the collaboration between Denis and a south of France perfumer, Micallef, famous for his perfumes. Presented in a superb bottle cloaked in a black Chantilly lace that was hand-made. I had the pleasure to do the perfume Muse’s hair, Angela Donava. A dreamy Bielorussian creature, really elegant and a fashion blogger in addition ! Chitchat behind the scenes, that's for sure...
