The hairdressers creators Eric Sammartano and Laurent LEGAL owning the ERIC & LAURENT’s salons are running 3 hairdressing salons and a barber shop. In addition to their hairdressing talents, they are today entrepreneurs and the creators of a collection which inspires travel.

Livecoiffure: Could you tell us about your duo ?

Eric & Laurent. Our duo has been working for 30 years! The same passions and love for our profession led us to develop a style and a service based on our client’s expectations. The success of our work remains on the dialog with our clients. Today, we have about fifty partners with different styles. This is also a strength so each woman and each man can see themselves in them.

We propose a wide range of styles but our main aim is to take care of the hair and to not fall for techniques which could deteriorate the quality of the hair. A good dialog with the client enables her to be aware of her hair’s health and to reproduce an easy style. This is also a service which starts with an appointment because nowadays a client appreciates to be taken care of on time and to not wait too much. An appointment enables you to prepare your work in advance but also to propose the novelties. Thus, advising the client about new services enables you to retain her.

Livecoiffure: What are the specialties of your four hairdressing salons?

Eric & Laurent. The main specialty of our three hairdressing salons is to propose a new style for each season to our clients in terms of technical services or haircuts. It is important to always propose novelties... Each post is important in our different salons. It starts with the basin during which one of the members of our team has a conversation with the client.

Regarding the barber shop, all styles are represented, from the eccentric ones to the most classic ones! Before everything, it is a personalized and a tailored service conducive to relaxation in a vintage atmosphere.

Livecoiffure: Where did you get your inspiration during the creation of your new Autumn-Winter 2016-2017 collection, Imagine People ?

Eric & Laurent. We took inspiration of the different ethnic groups around us but we particularly wanted to imagine a free woman with different facets… We wanted all women to see themselves in our new collection Imagine People. But also we wanted them to be able to adopt a style within their reach…from the business woman to the most fashionable one!

Livecoiffure: You work with the brands Wella Professionals, Sebastian Professional and Tigi, did you decide to choose only foreign brands?

Eric & Laurent : Our aim was not particularly to work with foreign brands but we appreciated the quality of their products. In the other hand, these brands proved to be very beneficial for our teams.
These brands organize trainings with their team for our partners which enables us to offer new services to our clients. Also, working beforehand on avant-garde ranges of products enables us to be ready at the right moment…Mastering our products and knowing all their characteristics before receiving them in the salon enables us to do a good job! It is particularly important that our products are not sold by non-professionals.

Livecoiffure : Was the opening of a Barber Shop essential to follow the trend for you?

Eric & Laurent : Indeed, 4 years ago, we thought that the opening of a barber shop was essential. Our salons are mixed and more and men’s demand was becoming more important especially in terms of services like the beard's cuts. Being styled among women made them uncomfortable. We then decided to recreate an intimate and calm space so the client can be shaved in an atmosphere dedicated to them.

Our barbers were trained by real professional barbers. Once they started working, we fast doubled the staff and the area thanks to this new know-how.
