In a society that haven't got time for anything, dry shampoo fit in perfectly : you are late for work and you don't have time to wash your hair ? Dry shampoo is there for you. Your hairstyle needs to be fixed ? Dry shampoo is there for you. With all these promises, I had to try it !
For this test, I chose two brands that we already talked about :
- Redken Powder Refresh 01 a dry shampoo spray that cools any types of hair. It seems that it is also used by studio hairdressers, to correct styling products excess or to give a natural shape to shoulder-length hair in particular.
- L’Oréal Professional Fresh Dust is also a dry shampoo spray. It cools roots, gives volume and control your hair, it seems that it is also use in fashion shows.

Greasy morning hair
To do the test, your hair shouldn't be clean. The dry shampoo is there to avoid doing a real shampoo, or at least to delay it.
So, in the morning, before going to work, I tried the shampoo. The instruction manual in simple : I shook it, I sprayed it on my roots, then I combed my hair to eliminate products surplus and to share it out on my hair.
This is easy to do, and you get a direct result : with Powder Refresh 01, my hair seems cleaner and lighter. So, I went out, smiling and showing my mermaid hair to all the passer-by.
But after the morning... it went really bad. I didn't touch my hair but then it was greasy again.
Certainly, this shampoo is not the same as a real shampoo, but they promised us that it will last the entire day, that we won't have to think about our roots, and then, you realize that it is not the case at all. I had to fasten my hair for the rest of the day, I was disappointed !
For now, the score is mixed : greasy hair 1- dry shampoo 0

Fairy dust
For the second part of the test, it's apprehensively that I tried
Fresh Dust, on a beautiful morning of April. The heat is back, so I was afraid that my scalp sweating will cancel out the spray effects. But I was committed, so I tried it !
So, once again, before going to work, I tried the shampoo : I shook it, sprayed it and combed my hair. First surprise : the smell. Unlike Redken dry shampoo, which is not a shampoo at all, the L’Oréal Professional one smells like Spring coolness. It couldn't be more perfect for this season ! However, for the volume is not quite what I was expected.
After spending the day working and using public transport.. my hair looked good ! Of course, it wasn't as clean and fresh as it is after a real shampoo, but it kept its shape all day long and it wasn't more greasy than before.

Outcome
Of the two dry shampoo spray, my favourite is L’Oréal Professional
Fresh Dust! Fresh and effective, it lasts all day long and you don't get any nasty surprise. If you want to buy these products, you have to go to a salon, where the price for a Redken
Powder Refresh 01 is 24 Euros for153 ml, while L’Oréal Professional
Fresh Dust costs 17 Euros for 150 ml.
