Livecoiffure : This year 2014 marks a big turning point in your career since you've decided to move in Montréal… what's the point ?
Stéphane Scotto Di Cesare : For several years, I've been training, heading and managing more than thirty five employee and professionals within the school Scotto di Cesare in France. Many of my old students are living in Canada today, I've then decided with my family to take the great leap there.
I wanted to focus on a more artistic direction and Montréal offered me a diversity and a mix of much more important kinds. The play area is much bigger but I take the risk to call everything into question for that new challenge. In France, I had a job, a reputation, a passion and an efficient.
The counter is back to zero... for new adventures

Livecoiffure : What is happening to the hairdressing, estetic and makeup school in Vannes ?
Stéphane Scotto Di Cesare : My brother is my partner and runs with me the salons and the school, so it's normal he took over the company.
The school is now run by my right arm for twenty years, Sarah Duran. My work and my father's work are perennial that way. I'm always in touch with my former team and I'm confident about the future of the school.

Livecoiffure : Can you explain us how your projects are received comparing to France ? Is the reception different ?
Stéphane Scotto Di Cesare : Since I arrived in Canada, I've been informing myself about the market and the habits of the country. The culture is very different, very similar to many American habits. The huge difference between France and Canada, I'm a freer hairdresser here.
The tendencies come from the United States where there is no limits. Sometimes, I felt off the wall in France, out of competition, whereas here my creations are noticed. My artistic sense draws inspiration from the street, in front of the TV or even in the magazines.

Livecoiffure : You are a lot in the creation, have you recently achieved a big project?
Stéphane Scotto Di Cesare : Yes I made one of my dreams come true: The hair street art. I've always had this innovative idea and finally it is carried out ! I started my series this summer during the Fashion Week in Montréal, where I had the chance to meet Denis Binet, hairdresser and artist, who is used to work for the haute-couture.
The concept is very simple: I accost a person in the street, I style her, we put her on some make-up, all of that in live and in front of the public. I want to show that with this artistic performance, I can create a movement in order to bring hairdressing back in the street.
My french touch can be read with my look and my gestures, but the creation is original and comes from my imagination.
The reception of my first hair street art was shared more than 400 times on the social networks. The next sequence will be during the month of January under the snow. I'm planning to publish videos regularly in unusual and unexpected places.

Livecoiffure : Apart from Le Hair Street Marketing, are you doing anything else in Canada ?
Stéphane Scotto Di Cesare : I'm lucky to work with Coco Cristal, a luxurious company of hair extensions where I give haute coiffure trainings of créatif sculturing. I participate to many shootings, TV series, magazines and I have even a project of fashion show for a great brand !
I'm proposed other original projects like the museum Grévin in Montréal which asks me sometimes specific demands; I, for example, had a night with Marylin Monroe and Angelina Jolie, this is fun and gratifying !

Livecoiffure : Would you like to add something or to transmit a message ?
Stéphane Scotto Di Cesare : I'm appointed to the Hairdressing Awards 2014 French hairdressing competition where the participants must constitute a dossier with four artistic visuals by category- and I am a finalist in two categories; the great west and the male hairdressing. I planned a male vintage series in sepia and a monochrome red series for the great west. Exceptionally, this ceremony will take place in 2015 for the ten years of Schwarzkopf.
