  • The fringe is a timeless hairdressing's accessory. It looks good on many people. The actress Audrey Hepburn was the first one to have one, in the film « Breakfast at Tiffany’s », a magical comedy directed by Blake Edwards. Since then, a lot of famous person had adopted it, like Zoë Kravitz or Ginnifer Goodwin.   For this season 2013, forget the thick hair which hide your eyes. This spring, it is better to have it short and uneven – like in Miu Miu or Trussardi's fashion show- and cut in the middle of the forehead. To make it look better, you can apply a certain amount of make up on your eyes.  If you have a fringe, there is something you must do : pluck your eyebrows. The eyes are highlighted by the hairstyle and you'll have to watch out for the hair growing again in this strategic area !

Here's some advice from Christine Margossian, LiveCoiffure top hairdresser.

Jardins Précieux ©Christine Margossian "Having a fringe is not for everybody. So, before following fashion, you should verify if you have the right face and hair. To make sure of it, in order to avoid a bad surprise when you do go to your hairdresser to get a fringe, wear a lock of hair extension ; or even better, fringe hair clip. Regarding the hair texture, you would prefer an average volume. In deed, if you have fine hair, your hairstyle will not look good enough, but if you have thick hair you will probably found yourself with an egg-shaped hairstyle. As far as the extensions are concerned, it is better not to have a tuft of hair, because you'll have to use a hair-drier to fix it every morning. Finaly, the fringe goes well with « oval or triangular shaped face » with a big/broad forehead. For all the over shape, like round or square, the fringe length won't be the same, it won't fall in the middle of the forehead ! So, make an appointment with your hairdresser so that he can advise you properly."
