  • The Enigma collection by Guylaine Martel & Christophe Gaillet

  • This collection is born out of a meet cute and a strong friendship between the L'Oreal professionnel France and Canada ambassadors.   The first time we met was in 2010, in Montreal, during the «Color Trophy Canada», and it was love at first sight for the both of us. I've immediatly seen in Guylaine Martel her dynamism, energy and most of all a burning passion for our job, hairdressing. Guylaine Martel et Christophe GailletIn june 2012, during a trip to Montreal, we have decided to do a photo shoot with a Quebecker photographer, Alain Comtois, who is an expert in capturing movements, colours, subjects and material. We choose together the theme, atmosphere, the light ; and like that we were making our history.  Our inspiration was the Jane Campion's successful film, «The piano». The only accessory we had was a large black ribbon which would be the only link between each style. For the light, we used neon lighting to get a strong and modern metallic image. A nonexistent stylism to optimize every hairstyle. The keywords of our collection are : volume, structure, pure lines and technical nature. Choosing the model was completely obvious for us. We saw in her sensitiveness and grace. It was a pleasant photoshoot were we totaly shared all of our ideas.   The fruit of this collaboration ? Five visuals for the birth of the Enigma Collection. It was a great team work and we achieve it in total symbiosis. Personally, what I will remember of this creative day are the rarified atmosphere, the fact that people showed a great professionalism and that it was very inspiring working in pairs. This collection was a huge success and published around the world and soon we'll publish the next one.

But who is Guylaine Martel ? A passionate woman, a creator.
