Christophe-Nicolas Biot
presents his new official photos. Like with a rock star, the session is organized in studio. Why, for who, by who?
LiveCoiffure undertakes an investigation
LiveCoiffure : what do you like, above all, during a shooting ?
Christophe Nicolas Biot : Transmitting the creative and psychological energy of the moment to get the message out to the readers that we want to say, to communicate.
LC : How do you realize new official photos ?
CNB : There’s no really a frequency. Let’s say that I take advantage of my sessions in studio to update my portraits. I think that it is good to present a picture of oneself correlated with the reality and the energy of the moment. That is what I like: transmitting what I see.
LC : Has Stéphane de Bourgies worked with you before ?
CNB : No, it is at the request of Coiffure de Paris that I met Stéphane de Bourgies. I didn’t know him personally. The magazine asked him to make a portrait of the persons who were in the in 2012, and it is in this way that I found myself in front of him! A great moment, because he might have known directly that I was “quick”. The shooting lasted only 10 minutes. He took a lot of pictures, about fifty and we selected three of them. They transmit as close as possible my energy, my folly, my vision and my personality… of the moment.
LC : How do you feel ALONE behind the lens compared to a show on a stage ?
CNB : This is a very good question…… Pfffff, what to say about my relationship with the stage … It is almost “animal”… I am in perfect harmony and I am weightless, I change, I move, and I play with the music and the images. I am the main actor of a movie of which I wrote the scenario. Behind the lens, I am « driven » by the eyes of the photograph and I have always had difficulties with fixed things… This was not the case with the last portraits of Stéphane de Bourgies.
LC :
Who chose the black & white, and the rock & roll ambiance of these photos ?
CNB : It was Coiffure de Paris who chose the black & white. When they asked me if it was ok, I agree straightaway because generally, I prefer black & white photos, but for the rock & roll ambiance, it was my idea « of course », this one of my favorite facets.
From hairdressing to the stage and in front of the lenses of photographs, this is a part of the life of our « top hairdresser »
Christophe Nicolas Biot… So rock n’roll
