We know that Jean-Michel Faretra won't tell us about the secrets of his creations making, but we need to know more about his futuristic icons.
LiveCoiffure : These last two creations really represent your style. Where does the inspiration come from ? Does it come from your trips to Japan ?
Jean-Michel Faretra : My first source of inspiration are my trips to Asia, and the other one comes from the various animals of Africa and Asia.
LC : Such creations need a lot of work. How much time did you spend on them ?
JMF : Four to five days per icon.
LC : I imagine that the « Fashion Week » show inspired you. Who are your favourite creators, and for whom would you like to work for ?
JMF : I like Karl Laguerfeld, Jean-Pau Gaultier, Elie Saab, and I am keen on the work of Stéphane Rolland, with whom I did a «photo shoot » for Paris Match in Jean- Louis Sherrer times. I also did Dominique Sirop's hairstyles for various fashion shows and I worked for D&G during the Milan « fashion week ».
LC : LiveCoiffure TV was at the 2012 MCB and filmed those oversized volumes, that were back-combed and extravagant. The audience was mesmerized when you were on stage. When are your next shows scheduled?
JMF : I have a show in Nantes (France) the 7th of April 2013 in cooperation with the CAC, other shows for WELLA and the MICHEL DERVYN group, and I'll go on tour in Japan from the 17th to the 29th of July 2013. Nineteen shows are scheduled for this tour!
LC : Are you working on new volumes ?
JMF : Yes as a matter of fact, I am working on new volumes and materials for the next shows...
Jean-Michel, thank you for the interview. The whole team can't wait to see you on stage !
