You have short or medium length hair and instead you want beautiful long hair. Your hair are " tired " and you dream about natural and discrete volume. If you want a crazy touch in your hair, don't hesitate and adopt extensions !
As we are impatient, or simply want more aestheticism, or hiding our imperfections (incipient baldness, hair loss), hair extensions can be adapted to any types of head for a maximum comfort and natural aspect.
Which colour for the extensions ?
Basic colours such as brown, blond, red-hair, etc., exist but there are also other colours more bright and original such as blue, green, orange, rose, etc. You can also find ashen reflects, passing from platinum, copper colour or simply natural colour. It is possible to personalized the colour using highlight.
How to put on extensions ?
There are several techniques :
One of them is
clip in or clip on extensions that consist in placing the weft on the head, place it wherever you want, on the top or down your head (depending if you want length or volume), use bobby pins. This technique is the easiest, the fastest and cheapest.
If you want it to be fast and simple, use
adhesive extensions, its the most basic and cheaper technique : ready to wear, the wefts are implanted on an adhesive strip, and you only have to stick them on your hair. For night life (flashy highlight colours) or simply as a complement (fringe, bun, ponytail), this is the ideal extension.
Another technique :
cold fusion hair extension. Your hair will have a better grip thanks to little silicone rings on the wefts base. A part of your hair is placed in the ring as well as the wefts you have chosen, then they are brought up thanks to a bobby pin to your roots. Thanks to the silicone there is a better hair grip and the hair extensions wont fall. It is better to opt for silicone rings rather than metal rings, the silicone help the hair from breaking off.
Moreover, this technique is relatively lasting, and your hair can breath freely : you simply have to bring the rings up to your head, and change them about every three months.
Hot fusion hair extensions : use a hot hair styling brush that will make the keratin melt (the keratin is like a plant glue) sticking your hair to 0,5 centimetres to your hair roots.
Hair waves is also a technique, it is generals used for afro hair but it takes a lot of time to do and it is quite expensive too. To create a substantial volume or to lengthen your hair you have the choice between :
classical hair waves that consists in placing between two and four hair waves strips on a plait you did with your own hair. Or
micro ring hair extensions : where the ring are placed at regular intervals along your hair plait.
Where can you find hair extensions ?
You can order them online, but we advice you against placing them yourself, without a professional touch, it is hard to place them correctly and let the rest of your hair breath. It is possible to place hair clip and adhesives strips yourself but it will be better to go to your hairdresser to have his guidance and advice, this will assure you a perfect hairstyle.
How much are extensions ?
The cost may vary according to the placing of extension, their length, the care products, the brand and hair types (artificial or natural hair).
